Paprika and Cayenne Prawns recipe

Preparation Time: 10 minutes | Cooking Time: 5 minutes

This simple spicy prawn dish works well on the BBQ, under the grill or on a griddle pan. Prawns are tossed with a mixture of paprika, cayenne, garlic, lemon juice and sea salt before being BBQed until pink.

  • 1kg fresh king prawns, cleaned, deveined, ready to eat
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp. sea salt
  • 1 tsp. sweet paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper

  1. Crush the garlic cloves. Whisk with the olive oil, lemon juice, sea salt, paprika and cayenne to form a paste. Add the prawns and toss to coat in the paste.

  2. Heat a BBQ to a medium heat and lightly oil the cooking grate. Add the prawns and cook for 1-2 minutes either side until pink, grill for 5 minutes or cook in a griddle pan for 1-2 minutes either side.

If you like, make the prawns spicier by adding some crushed dried chilli flakes or a fresh chilli. Recipe serves 6.
