Parmesan-Crusted Brussels Sprouts recipe

Sprouts are given a crunchy makeover in this delicious recipe. They're boiled until tender, then drained completely, tossed with melted butter and coated in a mixture of breadcrumbs, parmesan, garlic powder and black pepper.

Ingredients

  • 675g Brussels sprouts
  • 4 tbsp. melted butter
  • 4 tbsp. parmesan
  • 4 tbsp. breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp. each garlic powder, black pepper and chicken seasoning
  • Salt

Directions

  1. Boil the sprouts with a pinch of salt for 8-10 minutes or until tender. Drain, then plunge into ice water and drain. Make sure you get as much water out of the sprouts as possible.

  2. Toss the sprouts with 2 tbsp. melted butter and spread in a casserole dish. Mix the parmesan, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, black pepper, chicken seasoning and the rest of the melted butter. Sprinkle evenly over the sprouts and grill for 5 minutes under a medium heat, until golden and crisp.

For extra flavour, add a pinch of paprika or onion powder to the breadcrumb topping. Recipe serves 6.
