Pear Wholemeal Muffins recipe

Preparation Time: 15 minutes | Cooking Time: 30 minutes

These delectable wholemeal pear muffins are oh-so-delicious, you'll never realise that they're low in fat and calories and incredibly good for you! Try them for breakfast or as a mid-afternoon snack.


  • 250g wholemeal flour
  • 200ml milk
  • 4 tsp. sunflower oil
  • 4 tbsp. runny honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 150g pear, peeled, cored and grated
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 100g mixed nuts and seeds


  1. Preheat oven to 180C and line a muffin tin with paper cases.

  2. Mix together the flour, cinnamon and baking powder. In a bowl, whisk together the oil, honey, eggs and milk. Gradually add the wet mix to the dry mix until you have a smooth batter.

  3. Fold in the pears and nuts and seeds. Drop into the muffin cases.

  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden and springy to the touch.

If you like, sprinkle some nuts, seeds and oats over the tops of the muffins for extra flavour and crunch. Recipe makes 10 muffins.
