Easy Pork and Apple Slow Cooker Casserole recipe

Preparation Time: 30 minutes | Cooking Time: 8 hours

This brilliantly flavourful casserole uses just a handful of ingredients to create a rich, filling and super versatile family dinner. Sserve with creamy mashed potatoes and plenty of veggies.


  • 4 pork chops, fat trimmed
  • 3 apples, cored, sliced
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 500ml cider
  • 1 tsp. wholegrain mustard
  • 2 fresh sage leaves, finely sliced
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Cornflour


  1. Layer apples and onions in the bottom of a slow cooker and put the pork on top. Mix the sage and mustard into the cider and pour over the pork, then add a pinch of salt and pepper.

  2. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. If the sauce is too thin, add cornflour to thicken.

For an extra meaty flavour, throw a ham or chicken stock cube into the slow cooker along with the pork. Recipe serves 4.
