Prawn and Crab Pots recipe

A tasty recipe that is perfect to prepare in advance of having dinner guests. Serve with some sweet potato wedges and a big leafy salad.


  • 475ml single cream
  • 275g cooked crab meat
  • 170g croutons
  • 130g peeled cooked prawns
  • 60g melted butter
  • 60g grated Parmesan
  • 50g butter
  • 4 tbsp. plain flour
  • 4 tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 2 tbsp. dry sherry
  • 1 tsp. smoked paprika


  1. Preheat oven to 180C/gas mark 4.

  2. In a heavy bottomed saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in the flour until smooth. Remove this mixture from the heat and then whisk in 125ml of the cream and whisk until smooth, then return it to the heat.

  3. Add the cheese and stir well until you have a creamy mixture. Add the rest of the cream and mix well.

  4. Stir in the sherry, paprika, crab meat and prawns and spoon into ramekins.

  5. Crush together the croutons with the parsley and melted butter in a pestle and mortar or a food processer. Sprinkle this over the top of the crab and prawn mixture and then bake for 20 minutes, until golden and bubbling.
