Prawn Toasts recipe
Preparation Time: 45 minutes | Cooking Time: 10 minutes
This easy recipe for prawn toasts is perfect for serving at the beginning of a Chinese meal - prawns are chopped and combined with ginger and oyster sauce, spread onto bread and deep fried until crisp.
Ingredients
- 450g cooked prawns
- 1 tsp. minced ginger
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 dstsp. corn flour
- 1 dstsp. oyster sauce
- 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 12 slices bread
- Rapeseed or vegetable oil to fry
Directions
Finely dice the prawns and combine in a bowl with the ginger, salt, corn flour, oyster sauce, garlic and eggs.
Spread the bread slices with the prawn mixture. Slice into triangles and put into the fridge for around half an hour. Meanwhile, heat the oil to 180C.
Put the prawn triangles into the oil, prawn side down, and fry until golden brown. Take the prawns out of the oil and drain on kitchen paper before serving.
