Sesame Broccoli recipe

Preparation Time: 10 minutes | Cooking Time: 10 minutes

These easy peasy side dish is flavoured with sesame oil, sesame seeds, soy sauce and green pepper. Serve with stir fried chicken or alongside any Asian dish.


  • 175g broccoli
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 tbsp. sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp. sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. runny honey


  1. Slice the broccoli into florets. Halve the pepper, remove the seeds and pith, then slice into thin strips.

  2. Heat the oil over a medium high heat in a wok or large frying pan. Add the broccoli and sesame seeds and stir fry, stirring often, for 2-3 minutes or until tender. Add the green pepper and fry for a further 2 minutes.

  3. Stir in the soy sauce and runny honey and turn the heat up high. Bubble the liquid until it turns sticky, then serve immediately.

Turn this into a Mediterrannean-inspired dish with red pepper, pine nuts and lemon juice. Recipe serves 2 as a side.
