Sesame and Ginger Sprouts recipe

Sprouts take on the fresh flavours of Asia in this super simple recipe. They're blanched, then pan-fried in a combination of sesame oil and fresh ginger before being topped with toasted sesame seeds. Delicious!

Ingredients

  • 800g Brussels sprouts, halved
  • 1 tbsp. sesame oil
  • 1 thumb-sized piece root ginger
  • 4 tbsp. toasted sesame seeds

Directions

  1. Put the sprouts into a pan of boiling salted water. Blanch for a couple of minutes and drain really well. Meanwhile, finely shred the ginger.

  2. Heat the sesame oil in a large wok. Add the ginger and fry for 30 seconds or so, then add the sprouts, stir well and fry for 4-5 minutes or until hot and crunchy. To serve, sprinkle over the toasted seeds.

If you like things a little spicier, feel free to add some crushed garlic or dried chilli flakes to the sprouts.
