Simple BBQ Salmon recipe

This simple recipe for BBQ salmon is perfect for a party. It's really simple and combines just a few key flavours to make a wonderfully flavourful, rich and savoury dish.


  • 2 salmon steaks, boned and skinned
  • 2 tbsp. dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. runny honey
  • 1 tsp. freshly minced ginger
  • 2 spring onion


  1. Thinly slice the spring onions on the diagonal.

  2. Combine the soy sauce, honey, ginger and half the spring onions in a bowl. Pour over the salmon steaks, turn to coat, cover and leave in the fridge for a few hours.

  3. Uncover. Heat a BBQ to a medium heat. Oil the cooking grate. BBQ the salmon for 15-20 minutes, turning often, brushing with any extra marinade regularly. Garnish with the rest of the spring onions before serving.

For a little heat, try adding some freshly chopped chilli to the marinade. Recipe serves 2.
