Slow Cooker Porridge recipe

Preparation Time: 10 minutes | Cooking Time: 8 hours

Pop this porridge into your slow cooker before you go to bed and you'll have a dreamy, creamy porridge when you wake up!


  • 1 cup jumbo oats
  • 4 cups milk (900ml)
  • 4 tbsp. brown sugar
  • Dried fruits, to taste (blueberries, cranberries and cherries are lovely), around 75g


  1. Put the oats, milk, sugar, dried fruits and a pinch of salt into the slow cooker. Stir, cover and cook on low for 8 hours.

  2. In the morning, stir the porridge to get rid of the crust, then serve with the toppings or flavours of your choice - cinnamon, honey, banana or even lashings of maple syrup.

You don't have to add sugar - if you like, just sweeten the porridge with your favourite fruit. Recipe serves 2.
