Soy, Chilli and Lime Dipping Sauce recipe

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

This simple dipping sauce will be the perfect accompaniment to any sushi recipe - soy is flavoured with spicy chilli and tangy lime to create a wonderfully balanced dipping sauce. It's dead easy, too.


  • 100ml soy sauce
  • 1 red chilli
  • 2 spring onions
  • Zest and juice of 1 lime


  1. Slice the chilli in half and remove the seeds with the back of your knife. Finely dice the flesh. Slice the spring onions as thinly as you can.

  2. In a small bowl, combine the soy, chilli, spring onios, lime zest and lime juice.

You can add more or less chilli as you prefer - of you can omit it entirely and just use a pinch of two of dried chilli flakes for more mellow heat. Recipe serves 8.
