This Chinese-style asparagus dish tastes wonderful when paired with BBQ meats, such as BBQ pork or chicken. The sesame seeds add a little bit of crunch, and the sugar adds a delicious hint of sweetness.
- 500g asparagus
- 1 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tbsp. toasted sesame oil
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 tsp. brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. toasted sesame seeds
Mince the garlic cloves. Whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic and brown sugar.
Preheat a griddle pan (or regular frying pan) over a medium heat. Add the asparagus and cook for 5-8 minutes, turning regularly, until cooked to your liking and tender and slightly charred.
To serve, sprinkle with the toasted sesame seeds.
