Spinach and Cheddar Bread Machine Loaf recipe

Preparation Time: 10 minutes | Cooking Time: 3 hours

This wonderful savoury loaf is flavoured with Cheddar cheese, spinach and a little black pepper. It makes a brilliant alternative to regular white or brown bread for sandwiches but is also delicious spread with butter and serve with a cheese board.


  • 225ml water
  • 375g plain flour
  • 85g spinach, frozen, thawed, chopped, water squeezed out
  • 75g grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tbsp. caster sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 1/2 tsp. dried active baking yeast


1. Put water, flour, spinach, cheese, salt, sugar, pepper and yeast into the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select White Bread cycle and press Start.

Once the loaf is baked, cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. If serving warm, cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing. Recipe makes 1 loaf.
