Preparation Time: 10 minutes | Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Cabbage is stir-fried in a simple yet delicious sauce made with soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, Cayenne pepper and salt - it's perfect served alongside marinated Chinese chicken or with stir-fried veggie noodles.

  • 500g cabbage
  • 2 tbsp. each soy sauce, caster sugar and white vinegar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsp. oil

  1. Slice the cabbage into thin strands. Blend together the soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper.

  2. Heat oil in a wok over a medium heat and add the cabbage. Stir-fry the cabbage until coated in oil and wilted. The cabbage should be tender.

  3. Pour the sauce over the cabbage and boil hard for a minute or two or until reduced. Serve hot.

For extra spice and heat, add a chopped red chilli to the sauce mixture. Recipe serves 4.
