Strawberries are tossed with sugar, vinegar and black pepper in this unusual savoury and sweet salad. Perfect with breakfast or served as part of a summery picnic spread.
- 800g strawberries
- 2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar (best quality)
- 2 1/2 tbsp. dark brown soft sugar
- 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
Hull the strawberries and slice thinly. Toss with the sugar and leave to sit for around 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir together the vinegar and the black pepper in a small bowl. Pour over the strawberries and toss to combine right before serving.
