Strawberry Scones recipe

Preparation Time: 20 minutes | Cooking Time: 10 minutes

These crumbly, delicious scones are made with one very surprising ingredient - strawberry yoghurt. It gives them a delicious flavour and a fantastic texture. Serve with clotted cream and strawberry jam.


  • 225g plain flour
  • 2 dstsp. baking powder
  • 50g butter
  • 125g strawberry yoghurt
  • 2 tbsp. milk


  1. Preheat oven to 220C. Sift the flour and baking powder into a large bowl.

  2. Cut the butter into the flour using two bread knives or a pastry cutter until the mix is crumbly. Stir in the yoghurt to form a soft dough. Roll out on a lightly floured worktop until 2-3cm thick. Use a pastry cutter to cut out 12 scones.

  3. Place scones onto a baking tray, 5cm apart. Brush the tops with milk and bake for 10 minutes or until lightly risen and golden brown. Serve warm.

If you like, you could add some finely chopped fresh strawberries to the dough for extra fresh flavour. Recipe makes 12 scones.
