Simple Stuffed Apples recipe

This ridiculously simple recipe is perfect for cold evenings and when you want a bit of comfort. Apples are cored, placed onto a baking tray and filled with a simple mixture of brown sugar, fresh mint and sultanas. They are then topped with butter and baked in the oven - it's as simple as that! Serve them with something cold and sweet, like vanilla sweetened cream or cold ice cream.


  • 4 apples
  • 100g sultanas
  • 100g dark brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. chopped fresh mint
  • 4 tsp. butter


  1. Preheat the oven to 180C.

  2. Core each apple and peel a 2cm strip around the top of each hole.

  3. Combine the brown sugar, sultanas and fresh mint and fill each apple with ¼ of the mixture.

  4. Place a tsp. of butter on top of each apple.

  5. Place the apples into the oven for 45-50 minutes or so or until the apples are tender.

Leave the apples to cool ever so slightly before serving. This recipe serves four people.
