These super simple pork chops are baked with apples and a simple cooking liquor made with brown sugar, cloves and mustard for a delicious meal that takes only 45 minutes to cook and ten minutes to prepare.
- 4 pork chops
- 2 apples
- 1 onion
- 2 tbsp. oil
- 1/2 tsp. each salt and black pepper
- 2 tbsp. light brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. ground mustard
- Small pinch ground cloves
- 175ml hot water
Peel, core and chop the apples into wedges. Finely dice the onion.
Heat a little oil in a frying pan and cook the onion until golden and brown. Set to one side and then brown the pork chops on either side.
Heat the over to 190C. Put the pork chops in the bottom of a baking tin and scatter with chopped apple and the cooked onion.
Mis together the hot water, brown sugar, mustard and cloves until everything dissolves and pour all over the ingredients in the tin.
Cover with foil and bake for 35-45 minutes or until the pork is cooked through to your liking.
If the sauce is a little thin, pour into a saucepan. Mix a little of the sauce with some corn flour, return to the sauce in the pan and cook until thickened.
