Thai Coconut Beef Curry recipe

Total Time: 35 minutes


3 tbsp Mussaman curry paste
1 tbsp ground cumin
1 tbsp ground coriander
150ml water
75g block of creamed coconut
500g beef fillet, cut into strips
400ml coconut milk
50g peanuts, finely chopped
2 tbsp fish sauce
1 tsp brown sugar
4 kaffir lime leaves
Boiled rice, to serve with
Freshly chopped coriander, to garnish


  1. In a bowl, combine the curry paste, cumin and ground coriander.

  2. Pour the water into a saucepan. Add the creamed coconut and heat until dissolved.

  3. Add the curry paste mixture to the saucepan; simmer for 1 minute.

  4. Add the cut up beef and simmer for 8 minutes.

  5. Add the coconut milk, chopped peanuts, fish sauce and brown sugar. Simmer gently for 15-20 minutes.

  6. Add the lime leaves and simmer for 1 minute.

  7. Serve hot with boiled rice, garnished with fresh coriander.
