These are wonderfully moreish and devilishly rich. Perfect with a cup of hot chocolate for an evening snack.
- 500g rolled oats
- 250g butter
- 250g soft brown sugar
- 175g black treacle
Preheat the oven to 180C/gas mark 4.
Line and grease the insides of a 25cm square cake tin.
Place the butter, treacle and butter together in a saucepan. Stir together until everything is completely melted and dissolved together.
Pour the oats into the mixture and stir well.
Tip the mixture into your tin and press down well. Make sure the top is level.
Cook for around 12-14 minutes.
Once cooked, mark into bars and leave to cool.
Once cooled, cut into bars.
