This might sound like an odd mix, but dark chocolate and venison are actually a wonderful combination. This recipe is very, very simple to make and will woo your loved one this Valentine's day.
- 2 x 200g venison steaks
- 200ml red wine
- 200ml beef stock
- 200g dark chocolate, melted
- 2 tbsp. oil
- Salt and pepper
Season the venison steaks on either side with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the steaks on either side for 5-7 minutes or until cooked through to your liking. Remove from the pan and set to one side.
Pour beef stock into the pan and bring to a simmer. Whisk in the red wine and melted chocolate and simmer until the mix starts to thicken. Whisk occasionally to prevent it from burning. Taste and add salt and pepper as needed.
To serve, pour the sauce over the venison steaks.
