The perfect way to round off a dinner party, this recipe, with a quick walnut bread and baked Camembert cheese is really, really delicious - serve with fresh bears, or apples, or even grapes.
- 300g plain flour
- 200g wholemeal flour plus a sprinkle of extra flour to dust
- 285g buttermilk
- 150ml milk
- 50ml olive oil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. bicarbonate of soda
- 100g chopped walnuts
- 2 Camembert cheese, in the boxes
- 2 tbsp. walnut oil
Preheat the oven to 200C. Mix flours, salt and bicarb together, then stir in the buttermilk, milk and olive oil until the dough is soft and sticky. Fold in the walnuts. Dust a baking tray with the flour, then arrange the dough into a sticky mound on the tray. Dust with more flour, then score the top.
Bake the bread for half an hour then leave to cool for at least half an hour before serving.
Prepare the cheeses by unwrapping, then placing back in the boxes and tying string around the boxes to keep cheese in place. Drizzle with oil, season and bake for 10 minutes or until gooey and melted. Serve with the bread to dip.
